Every year NCO, auditions 1,000 7-13 year olds and identifies 600 young people to form six age-banded symphony orchestras and six regional orchestras. Many children progress through all our national orchestras gaining 6 years of learning opportunities as part of NCO.
A place in NCO gives a child access to inspirational residential music courses, performance opportunities and membership of year-round regional orchestras. We have highly sought-after conductors and tutors leading the courses, rehearsals and creative workshops. We deliver live performances in major concert venues in the U.K.

For over 40 years CYO has been providing opportunities for young instrumentalists from across Cornwall to experience the challenges and rewards of playing in a full symphony orchestra. The orchestra has offered invaluable experience to a succession of CYO members, some of whom have gone on to play with the South West Youth Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and European Union Youth Orchestra. The CYO experience is all about developing musical teamwork and enjoying being part of and sharing the buzz of orchestral life. Director - Tim Boulton.
