The present band was brought to life by Dr John Coope in the 1960's. The band has progressed steadily through the sections since they first gained promotion from the fourth section to the third in 1988. From 2012 onwards the band will be competing against the likes of Fairey's and Foden's and other well known bands often regarded as the finest in the world. Bollington also has an active "B" band with members of all ages performing many concerts throughout the year. Bollington rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings 8-10pm.

Bollywood Brass Band is the UK’s pioneering Indian-style wedding band, performing at weddings and venues across the UK, Europe and in India. Bollywood Brass Academy delivers workshops for young people and schools and has published a series of tutor books for brass, wind and dhol drum (Spartan Press), plus school and brass band arrangements for various playing levels. The Brass Academy aims to diversify brass repertoire and to promote progression and continuation on instruments.
