Sheku Kanneh-Mason
Sheku Kanneh-Mason is the 2016 BBC Young Musician, a title he won with a stunning performance of the Shostakovich Cello Concerto at London’s Barbican Hall with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Spring 2016. Sheku learnt with Ben Davies at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and, in September 2017, will start a full-time degree course at the Royal Academy, studying with Hannah Roberts. He plays an Antonius and Hieronymus Amati cello c1610 kindly on loan from a private collection.

The Samuelsens
The remarkable rise of Norwegian siblings Mari and Hakon Samuelsen is the result of their artistry and enterprise. For more than 20 years on stage, the brother and sister-phenomen have connected with audience and musicians across the world. A chief aim of the Samuelsens is to enlarge and expand the repertoire for cello and violin. In autumn 2014 the duo will give the world premiere performance of a Double Concerto by Oscar-winning composer, James Horner, in the 175th anniversary with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic with conductor Vasily Petrenko.
