The BBC Philharmonic is based at MediaCityUK in Salford and performs an annual season of concerts at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, as well as regular concerts in Hanley, Leeds, Kendal and other venues across the north of England. As one of the BBC's six performing groups the orch records and performs concerts for BBC Radio 3. Most of the concerts that the orch performs each year will be broadcast on Radio 3.

Beatrice Rana has earned international critical acclaim and attracted audiences worldwide after winning the Silver Medal and the Audience Award at the prestigious Van Cliburn competition in 2013. Two years before at the age of 18 she was awarded the 1st Prize as well as all special prizes at the Montreal International Competition. Beatrice has appeared in recital in prestigious venues and festivals including Tonhalle Zurich, Wigmore Hall in London, Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Portland Piano Festival, Lied Center of Kansas, Spivey Hall in Morrow.
American tenor Beau Gibson is an alumnus of the Houston Grand Opera Studio and is winning acclaim for his elegant voice and musicianship. A busy 2010/11 season saw Beau Gibson returning to Houston Grand Opera for Britten’s Peter Grimes (Bob Boles and cover Peter Grimes) with Patrick Summers, Normanno in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor with Antonino Fogliani and Father Grenville in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking, also with Patrick Summers.
