World's first competition for early music ens. Since the 1st edition in 1986, it has developed into a festival in addition to the competition rounds, inc concerts, masterclasses and lectures. Eligibility: For baroque music instrumental and vocal ens, max 8 persons per ens. An individual musicians may participate in max 2 ens. No age limit. Requirements: Participants should use original instruments or good replicas. Prizes: 1st prize: concert tour in Netherlands and Belgium. 2nd prize: EUR 3000. 3rd prize: EUR 2000. The Ionian Singers is a mixed choir of 25-30 voices encompassing a variety of ages and careers with a common passion for rehearsing and performing interesting music to a high standard. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings in Lambeth with around three concerts per year singing challenging music from the English Renaissance to the present day. We work with comps and instrumentalists and pride ourselves on bringing little known music to our audiences.
