Michael Hill International Violin Competition
Eligibility: Open to violinists of all nationalities between the ages of 18 and 28. Requirements: Selection video recording and CV etc. 2 quarter-final rounds of unaccompanied and accompanied works. Prizes: 1st prize NZ $40,000, plus personalised professional development package; 2nd prize NZ $10,000; 3rd prize NZ $5000; 4th prize NZ $3000; 5th prize NZ $2000; 6th prize NZ $1000; best performance of commissioned work NZ $2000; chmbr music prize $2000. Bergonzi violin awarded to deserving semi-finalist. Entry fees: NZ $175. Location: Queenstown and Auckland. Frequency: Biennial.
