Classical Opera is one of the leading exponents of period performances of the works of Mozart and his contemporaries. Founded by conductor Ian Page in 1997, the company performs with its own period instrument orchestra and has attracted widespread acclaim for the high quality of its performances and its imaginative programming. Classical Opera works with singers of international renown as well as emerging artists, and has helped to nurture singers such as soprano Sophie Bevan and tenor Allan Clayton. Classical Opera has released numerous recordings on Linn Records and Signum Classics.
