State-approved organisation commissioned by the Ministry of Culture to defend the interests of its approx 12,500 active members grouped in 325 cultural associations in the fields of music, folklore and theatre. Music school has approx 5000 students and 190 teachers distributed in 68 districts; also organises several vocational and advanced training courses attracting young musicians from across the country and from other European countries.
