Royal Scottish National Orchestra
Formed in 1891 as the Scottish Orchestra, the company became the Scottish National Orchestra in 1950, and was awarded Royal Patronage in 1977. Throughout its history, the Orchestra has played an integral part in Scotland’s musical life, including performing at the opening ceremony of the Scottish Parliament building in 2004. Many renowned conductors have contributed to its success, including George Szell, Sir John Barbirolli, Walter Susskind, Sir Alexander Gibson, Neeme Järvi, Walter Weller, Alexander Lazarev and Stéphane Denève.

Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus
The RSNO Chorus performs in around six different programmes in up to twenty concerts across Scotland with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra each year. In addition to its commitment to the Orchestra, the RSNO Chorus performs independently and has been invited to perform with orchestras in many different parts of the world, establishing an international status for the choir. It is directed by Gregory Batsleer, one of the UK’s most dynamic and in demand choral conductors and chorus masters.

Monday 18-Sunday 24 August 2025. Directed by Jennifer Sterling. A week-long summer choral course for singers aged 8-21, based in the city of Bath. Hosted at Kingswood School, the course is open to a wide age and ability range. Attendees will leave the course enriched, inspired, and better developed in their own skills no matter the starting point. The timetable for the week includes rehearsals and other musical activities designed to develop and inspire young choral singers, with choral services both at the school and in the inspiring setting of Bath Abbey.

Founded in 1963 by Nicholas Braithwaite, Salomon Orchestra is one of London’s finest and friendliest non-professional orchestras.
