The aim of Hallé Education is to firmly establish the Hallé as a valuable and highly responsive resource for all members of the community in and around Manchester, and is aimed principally at members of the community who would not normally attend its concerts. Generating in excess of 60 projects a year, it aims to develop high quality music-making to ensure that inspirational music is reaching large numbers of participants from a wide variety of backgrounds, principally by placing musicians into the wider community to compose and perform alongside project participants.

The Hallé Youth Orchestra, established in 2002, offers a unique opportunity to local young musicians, aged 13-19 years, to regularly experience the challenge of rehearsing and performing symphonic music to a very high standard, working with and playing alongside professional musicians. Repertoire is the kind performed by professional symphony orchestras. Youth Orchestra members go on to study many subjects including music, and several former members have now played professionally with the Hallé. Aged 13 - 19 years.
