Gregynog Festival
Founded in 1933, the oldest classical music festival in Wales presents leading international chamber, choral and early music specialists in the magnificent setting of Gregynog’s Music Room and other intimate historic venues. Gregynog Festival is a Signature Event of Visit Wales and the only Welsh member of REMA, the European Early Music Network based at Versailles. 2017 theme: Pageantry, inspired by the creative community that gathered in the North Wales coastal town of Harlech a century ago. Dates 16 June-2 July 2017, with events in Aberystwyth, Chirk and Harlech as well as Gregynog itself.

Gregynog Young Musician of the Year
Eligibility: Any orchestral instrument, including piano, guitar, recorder and percussion. No lower age limit but entrants must be born after 31 Aug 2001. Requirements: Application form, entry fee and CD of two contrasting excerpts lasting no longer than 10 minutes in total to be submitted. Entrants to be of Grade 8 standard or equivalent. Prizes:1st prize: £3,000.00 and 5 category prizes of £500.00 each. Entry fees: £30. Location: Gregynog Hall, Nr Newtown, Powys. Competition date: 25th April 2020.
