Grand Union Orchestra
The Grand Union consists of some 2 dozen musicians from a variety of parts of the world, embracing a wide range of cultures, music practice and inst and vocal expertise. About half of these musicians are engaged on a regular basis in an enormously varied programme of w/shop projects. Although their educ work is based on a much broader music reference than jazz, the key element of improvisation is fundamental to their work. In their w/shops, the group does not specify music techniques or perf skills, but attempts to help people create their own original music, regardless of inst expertise.

Ignite Ensemble
The Ignite Ensemble is Wigmore Hall’s improv and outreach group. It is comprised of professional musicians from a rich variety of musical backgrounds and mixes up jazz, Indian music, contemporary western and free improv for a totally unique sound. The members are highly experienced workshop leaders. Wigmore regularly commissions 'one-page scores' for Ignite from eminent composers (including Steven Hough, Amjad Ali Khan, Stephen Walbeck, Jackie Walduck, Param Vir, Jason Yarde, Martin Butler, Peter Wiegold and Luke Bedford) which are performed in concerts and once a year on the Wigmore stage.

The Kariosa Ensemble was set up in 2007 by students on the postgraduate performance course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London. They are currently developing the work of this ens within both performance and community contexts.
