Since his acclaimed debut at the Metropolitan Opera singing Andrei Bolkonsky (War and Peace) Alexey Markov has already returned as Tomski in Pique Dame, Marcello in La Boheme, Il Conte di Luna (Il Trovatore) and Valentin (Faust). During the 2013-2014 season at the Metropolitan, Markov is performing in La Bohéme. His 2012/2013 season includes his debut in a new production of Il Trovatore at the Bayerische Staatsoper and debut at the Verbier Festival. Hailed by the press in summer 2009 as Robert in a new production of Iolanta in Baden-Baden (for DVD release).
