Swiss soprano Chiara Skerath began violin and vocal studies in her hometown of Leuven, Belgium. She concentrated on her vocal studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with Glenn Chambers and with Claudia Visca at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Following acclaimed student performances as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and the Princess in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Skerath made her professional debut as Silvia in Haydn’s L’Isola Disabitata with the Vienna Chamber Opera.
Now singing baritone, Chris has been fortunate enough to sing as a soloist in operas with distinguished conductors such as Richard Bonynge, Peter Robinson and Gianluca Marciano, as well as singing in masterclasses with Sir John Tomlinson, John Shirley Quirk and Sir Thomas Allen.
Future plans include Ned Keene in Britten's Peter Grimes with Co-Opera, Silvio in I Pagliacci with Australian Touring Opera as well as covering and singing Paolo as a young artist in Simon Boccanegra with Fulham Opera.

This season, bass-baritone Christian Van Horn makes his debut at the San Diego Opera as Colline in La bohème and returns to both the Bayerische Staatsopera as the Four Villains in Les contes d'Hoffmann and to the San Francisco Opera for Norma, Un Ballo in Maschera, Cenerentola, La bohème, Les Troyens, and the premiere of Marco Tutino's Two Women. Mr. Van Horn recently made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in La bohème and as Pistola in a new production of Falstaff with James Levine.
