Jason Lai is a leading light in a new generation of Asian conductors, and has recently been appointed Associate Conductor for both the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Principal Conductor of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Orchestra.
Early success came when he won the BBC Young Conductors Workshop in 2002 and was awarded the post of Assistant Conductor to the BBC Philharmonic. His successful tenure with the orchestra gave him the opportunity to work closely with principal conductor Gianandrea Noseda.
Awarded the ‘National Music Prize’ in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture of Spain, Javier Perianes has been described as “a pianist of impeccable and refined tastes, blessed with a warmth of touch.” (The Telegraph) His international career already spans five continents – with concerts ranging from London’s Royal Festival Hall to New York’s Carnegie Hall; Paris’s Théâtre des Champs-Élysées to Berlin’s Philharmonie; Moscow Conservatory’s Great Hall to Suntory Hall Tokyo.
