Official band of the Mayor of Lincoln, a recreation of the Civic Musicians (Waites) running 1398-1857. Ens performing on many insts, eg shawms, sackbut, rcdrs, whistles, Rauschpfeifen, natural tpt, renaissance slide tpt, crumhorns, rackett, symphonie, hurdy gurdy, gothic hp, renaissance gui, perc, English bagpipes. Core rep comes from 15th C. Members of International Guild of Town Pipers. Visit schools to give talks on early Tudor music and musicians with musical examples.
Music facilities: Students from all courses are able to participate in music-making activities within the college. Public concerts are an integral part of the work of the students, both in house in a 120 seat perf space, and outside at a number of venues within the city. The college has 3 MIDI rooms (45 workstations); 2 recording studios (1 digital and 1 analogue); 4 portable hard disk recorders. No of places: c 20 on each course.
