GJL is host to Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra (GYJO). 7pm - 9pm Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Academy (GYJA). 6pm - 7:30pm. To audition for GYJO you will need to be of Grade 6 or above and have a good understanding of the jazz idiom and scales. GYJA welcomes committed young musicians from Grade 4 and above. Grades are only a guide to the level required. More important is a strong commitment and positive attitude alongside good sight reading, confident improvising, musicianship and ensemble skills.

GSWO is aimed at advanced Wind, Brass and Percussion players and it provides an opportunity to tackle advanced repertoire and perform at a high level. The orchestra plays a wide variety of music, including original 20th century wind band scores through to arrangements of popular and classical music. Auditions are required. These are achieved within two full rehearsals to ensure members rehearse and perform to a required level. As a guide, a minimum Associated Board Grade 7 equivalent, or above, is required.

By joining, you'll get the chance to take part in singing courses three times a year during weekends or school holidays, working with vocal tutors and visiting professional singers.
