Jazz pianist, orchestral conductor, bandleader, singer and author of “A Classical Approach to Jazz Piano” published by Hal Leonard. He teaches jazz and improvisation to classical pianists at the Royal Academy of Music. Current projects include the Dominic Alldis Trio with bassist Andrew Cleyndert and drummer Martin France. Dominic Alldis is a Steinway Artist and an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in London.
The Dominic Alldis Trio comprises Dominic Alldis (piano, arranger), Andrew Cleyndert (double bass) and Martin France (drums). Their aim is to explore the meeting point of two musical worlds: classical and jazz. Inspired by the Jacques Loussier Trio, Bill Evans Trio, Dave Brubeck Quartet and the Modern Jazz Quartet, their concerts appeal to both classical and jazz audiences who enjoy chamber music, jazz and the timeless art of improvisation.
