Attracting considerable attention across Europe and the US with her illuminating interpretations of a wide-ranging repertoire, the Romanian pianist Alexandra Silocea possesses a highly refined musicianship. Educated in Bucharest, Vienna and Paris, she made her debut with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra at Vienna’s Konzerthaus in 2008, following it with a Carnegie Hall recital in 2009. It was Silocea’s debut recording of Prokofiev’s first five Sonatas (released on Avie Records in 2011) that brought her widely acclaimed recognition as a special talent and a performer to watch.
