The competition is open for the following categories: Piano Duo, Voice, Horn and Violin to musicians of all nations born between 1992 and 2004 for horn and violin, between 1989 and 2001 for voice, total age maximum 60, single members not older than 35 for piano duo Total Prizes € 94,500. Grants, Special Prizes and invitations to give concerts. Schedule: August 30 to September 17, 2021. 8th Elizabeth Connell Prize International Singing Competition
The 2022 Elizabeth Connell Prize is open to professional Sopranos and Mezzo Sopranos of all nationalities aged 25-34 as of 1 June 2022. The competition’s aim, based on Elizabeth Connell’s own wishes, is to foster aspiring young dramatic female voices who show the potential to sing the more dramatic repertoire. Entrants do not have to currently be a dramatic soprano or dramatic mezzo soprano to enter, simply show potential. All repertoire is accepted, especially the lyric repertoire, which is highly encouraged for this age group. AUD$60,000 in cash prizes to be won.

The competition is open to all organists; applicants need not be AGO members. See the AGO website for the rules and online application. There is an initial application round from which up to five semifinalists are chosen. Procedure: 1 initial application/recorded round from which up to nine semifinalists will be chosen, followed by a semifinal and final round.
