Baroque Encounter was formed in 2004 by countertenor Glenn Kesby, harpsichordist Claire Williams and recorder player Lauren Brant. Though soloists in their own right, together they present chamber music recitals mixing ensemble pieces, virtuosic pieces for two (or more) instruments, and vocal and instrumental solos. Forces are enlarged for specific repertoire including theatrical works and dramatic cantatas.
Sharing the enjoyment they experience with their music is an important element of their work. They conduct interactive workshops in schools, festivals and as part of some performances.
