Cokethorpe is a co-educational day school for children aged 4 to 18, set in 150 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire parkland, two miles south of Witney and ten miles west of Oxford.
Pupils can benefit from grants awarded annually to Music Award Holders, with assessments held in First and Third Form. The title and associated grant often continue over multiple years, with an annual review. Music Award Holders are expected to take a leading role in Music and act as ambassadors for Cokethorpe; they can also expect extra support from the Music Department as they move up through the Senior School.
The Junior House provides a specialist music educ with astrong emphasis on Catholic liturgical music for boys betweeen the ages of 7 and 10. The Runnymede Choir is open to children from Year 4 upwards by audition. The choir performs at school events such as concerts, carol services, festivals and the summer musical play. It has performed at Alder Hey and the Royal Liverpool Hospitals, Capital of Culture events, Liverpool Town Hall, St George’s Hall, Liverpool FC and various venues. The Runnymede Orchestra is open to all orchestral instrumentalists and have reached a minimum of Grade 1 standard. Singers and instrumentalists of all ages and abilities perform throughout the year in music lessons, Collective Worship and concerts.
