The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) is a registered charity (no. 274578), founded in 1965. NYJO’s flagship band is the premier UK youth (under 26) jazz orchestra, performing jazz nationally and internationally. NYJO delivers educational programmes across the country alongside its performances, developing progression routes for the next generation of internationally recognised jazz musicians, as well as developing new audiences for the art-form. NYJO also operates a weekly Academy, which offers London-based access to jazz ensembles for young musicians of varying levels and abilities.
