Music scholarships are awarded at all entry points to young instrumentalists and singers who show real passion, talent and potential. Including up to 30 hours of free music tuition per year, the scholarship package provides opportunities to attend concerts and music rehearsals and to perform regularly both inside and outside of school. Termly fees for the academic year 2023-24 are: £8,120-£9,460 (day); £9,155-£12,115 (wkly board); £10,235-£13,950 (full board).

Queenswood is a progressive Boarding and Day School for around 440 girls, aged between 11 and 18, where Boarders make up roughly half of the School. Situated in Hertfordshire on the outskirts of London, the School occupies a beautiful 120-acre site.

 

Music scholarships are awarded at all entry points to young instrumentalists and singers who show real passion, talent and potential. Including up to 30 hours of free music tuition per year, the scholarship package provides opportunities to attend concerts and music rehearsals and to perform regularly both inside and outside of school. Scholars are eligible for financial assistance towards the junior membership fees of one of the following (if successful at audition) – The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music, Guildhall or Trinity College. Financial support is also available for a place in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and the National Children’s Orchestra (if successful at audition).

Music activities at Queenswood include four choirs, three orchestras and multiple ensembles: Piano Duet, Chamber Music Trios/Quartets, Vocal Duets, Pop Band, Brass Ensemble, Flute Choir, Wind Ensemble, Melisma Camerata/Melisma Quartet, Arioso String Ensemble, Percussion Group, Guitar Group, DJ Club Collective and Composition/Song-Writers Performance Platform

 

There is a team of twenty specialist music teachers, and facilities include the 100-seat Ernest Read Hall with two beautiful Steinway ‘B’ grand pianos, four ensemble rooms, a music technology suite and more than a dozen practice rooms.
