Varduhi Abrahamyan
Born in Yerevan into a family of musicians, Varduhi Abrahamyan earned her diplomas in Song and the Operatic Arts at the city’s conservatoire before moving to France where she won the Marseille Conservatoire Prize. From there, she was engaged by Marc Minkowski to perform Manuel de Falla’s El amor brujo at the Théâtre du Châtelet, and then to sing the roles of Polinesso (Ariodante) at Geneva’s Grand-Théâtre, Pauline (The Queen of Spades) at the Capitole in Toulouse, Maddalena (Rigoletto) at the Paris Opera, the Nancy Opera and the Théâtre de Caen.
