The Conservatoire
The Conservatoire is Blackheath's local independent arts centre. Each week we provide a broad mix of music, art, drama and cultural classes to over 1,200 people between the ages of 0 to 90! We were founded in 1881 by William Webster, who also founded the Blackheath Halls. Together, the three Grade II listed buildings make up the oldest surviving purpose built multi-arts complex in London. We aim to be the area's central creative hub, where people from across a range of ages and backgrounds come together to share in the transformative experience of making art and music.
