Music facilities: The dept is fortunate in possessing the Russell Collection of early kb insts and the Collection of Historic Musical Instruments, 2 concert halls (the Reid and St Cecilia's), 18 practice studios, 8 electronic studios, and one of the finest music libraries in the UK. Student groups take part in the University's concert series and there is also a great deal of professional music-making in Edinburgh.
