World-class opera in the Foster Partners' designed Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, Oct-Apr. A frequent commissioner of new operas inc Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer's "Moby-Dick" (2010), Joby Talbot’s "Everest" (2015), Heggie and McNally’s "Great Scott" (for Joyce DiDonato) and Mark Adamo’s “Becoming Santa Claus.” The Dallas Opera has presented more than a dozen groundbreaking local simulcasts and in remote locations from San Francisco and New York City to London and Stockholm and even traditional repertoire is presented with technical innovations as well as great artistry.
