After graduating in musicology, Gaëlle Arquez was the winner of the 2009 Gold Medal Singing Competition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. She studied with Malcolm Walker, Kenneth Weiss, Jeff Cohen and Susan McCulloch. Winner of further competitions such as Bourses Musicales des Zonta Clubs de France in 2006 or Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Competition in 2007, Gaëlle Arquez gave recitals on the stage of the Teatro Marcello in Rome, the Salle Pleyel in the series « Prélude au Concert » and the Louvre.
Grace Bumbry’s obsession with singing began when she was still a child. That obsession--together with a ravishing natural voice, an extraordinary talent, and unwavering determination--led to one of the most illustrious operatic careers of the 20th century. What's more, when most eras can boast four or perhaps five superstar sopranos and even fewer superstar mezzo-sopranos, for more than three decades and for millions of opera lovers in the United States and around the world, Grace Bumbry was both.
A graduate of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House in 2013, Polish mezzo-soprano Hanna Hipp has been described as a singer who “lights up the stage” (Opera Britannia). Ms. Hipp starts the 2014-15 season singing Ramiro in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera with Glyndebourne On Tour and then takes the stage at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly in a production by Mariusz Treliński. She makes her house debut at the Teatro alla Scala as Mercédès in Georges Bizet’s Carmen under Massimo Zanetti.
