Bucharest International JAZZ Competition 2019 @ EUROPAfest, 11-18 May
100 % jazz....a combination of concerts, jam sessions, workshops and quality musicians ...a platform for meetings, exchanges and promotion of the extraordinary values of the world’s new jazz generation. Last edition, bands from 26 countries entered the Semifinal. Ranked among the first 3 jazz competitions in Europe and part of the international festival EUROPAfest - jazz, blues, pop, classic, which presents over 300 artists from 45-50 countries. Jazz lovers are invited to discover and to encourage the best musicians of the moment, the crème de la crème from all around the world.

BA (Hons) Jazz (3 f/t, 5 p/t). Facilities: concert room with Steinway grand, pro lighting & PA, sound treated practice rooms and edit suites, 2 recording studios. Performance, improvisation and composition are embedded in all areas of the course, and practical workshops are the main teaching mode. Students are encouraged to develop their own distinctive voice while acknowledging the jazz tradition. Teaching staff are successful professional musicians who are active in the music industry and help students to build the contacts and experience required for a music industry career.

BA Hons Music (with options in band, jazz, popular music and music tech) (3/4); BA Hons in Popular Music and Recording. BA Hons Music encompasses jazz and rock ens, as well as wind and br bands. Both courses inc perf and comp as major elements. The centre arranges a comprehensive series of concerts and w/shops.
